ABOUT ME

Cooking and trying new recipes has always interested me, ever since I was a kid. I used to play "Chef" with my grandparents, where they would give me any expired items/seasonings from the back of their pantry, and I would "bake" something (i.e., mix it all up in a huge bowl and throw it away once I was done with it). The idea of taking ingredients and creating them into something delicious is something I truly enjoy and always have.  

As I have entered into the real world out of college with an 8-5 job, I have realized the effect your diet can have on you. I was introduced to a couple books that really changed my perspective about what I was putting into my body. From that, I thought sharing the recipes I find/create would be fun for other people to see, and to show that a healthy lifestyle can be accomplished, even with a busy schedule and a budget. 

With all that to say, I strive to do the best I can, but I would be lying if I said I didn't go out and enjoy all the wonderful and delicious items at a restaurant from time to time. I believe that that life is about balance, and this blog is dedicated to enjoying food throughout life, and focusing on the healthy choices day-to-day while enjoying the other not-so-healthy items every once in a while.
